At the end of the 15th century, Ferdinand of Aragon and Isabella of Castile married and became the most important couple in the history of Spain. Known as the Catholic Monarchs, they lived in Toledo when it was the capital of the kingdom.
The cultural heritage they left in the city is sensational, with the impressive San Juan de los Reyes Monastery being its greatest exponent, built at the queen's personal request.
More than half a century later, a few steps away from the monastery, stands a unique neo-Mudejar style building, declared an Asset of Cultural Interest, the Hotel San Juan de los Reyes.
