Portella’s essence is based on the building itself, the materials used and the décor selected. The combination of these factors has breathed new life into the building.
ARTISANAL REHABILITATION
The restoration works have been based on mud, natural stone, iron, and wood materials. Where possible, local materials and craftsmen have been applied. What could has been restored has been done so, and if not, replicated with care.
Hand-cut Santanyí stone has been carefully applied during the restoration with Lighting created exclusively for Portella by Gordiola; a Mallorcan company specialising in blown glass since 1719.
The solid wood carpentry both replicates and celebrates the original designs.
