Located within the heart of the demarcated Douro region, in the Cima Corgo's golden triangle, Quinta da Côrte stands as a testament to noble history and an exceptional schist terroir. Its origins dates to the 19th century, marked by the initial records of vineyard plantations dating back to 1814. Plot 505 represents one of the oldest parcels from the post-phylloxera era, with over 100 grape varieties different. Traditionally associated with Port Wine production, the estate commenced crafting DOC Douro and Port Wines under its own label in 2013, following its integration into Philippe Austruy's portfolio of wine estates.
Simultaneously, Quinta da Côrte's traditional 'Casa' stands as a hallmark in small boutique wine tourism. Its authentic Portuguese ambiance, complemented by contemporary architecture signed by Pierre Yovanovitch, showcases meticulous reinterpretations. The property features eight rooms adorned with a refined simplicity, echoing its origins through terracotta flooring, whitewashed walls, and softly hued ceilings, fostering a welcoming and inviting atmosphere. The estate offers exclusive wine tourism experiences that prioritize personalization and individualized guest reception. Visitors can partake in guided visits and tastings either at the Quinta or within the 'Boutique Rendez-vous,' indulging not only in the estate's Douro and Porto wines but also local delicacies and organic Extra Virgin olive oil.
Today, Quinta da Côrte aligns with the Austruy vineyard philosophy and stands in union with the Commanderie de Peyrassol in Côtes de Provence, Château Malescasse (a 'cru bourgeois' from the Haut-Médoc region in France), and Tenuta Casenuove in Tuscany.
