Let the sea set you free, a philosophy that best describes SaffronStays Athaang is situated right on the ever-serene Konkan coast and is a 6-hour drive amidst the Sahyadri ranges from Pune, Alibaug and Mumbai.
Dotted by the scenic Sahyadri ranges and bordered by the Konkan Coast, this home, thoughtfully spread across a 7-acre land, overlooks the vast expanse of the Arabian Sea and is ideal for a family holiday, a couples getaway, or large groups looking for a reunion or a corporate offsite.
As you walk into this estate, structures roofed by Mangalore tiles of crimson, traditional pillars, and the sea breeze that evokes a sense of belongingness will woo your heart within the first 15 seconds (it's a challenge).
This cottage consists of 4 bedrooms (2 on the ground level and 2 interconnected rooms on the first level), which we lovingly call SaffronStays Athaang (Trishna) (Trishna meaning "quenching of thirst"). These rooms have massive common balconies that open up to breathtaking views of the sea and the opposite shore.
In this cottage, there is a huge patio that starts from the garden side and goes right up to the seafront. This is where piping hot, home-fresh Konkani meals are served, of course, in the melodious company of ocean waves. There is a common area on the ground level and a games section on the first level with carrom, table tennis, a pool table and board games such as Monopoly, Scrabble, Pictionary, etc.
The front yard comprises a viewing deck that is just the perfect spot to "seas the day" or indulge in some yoga, meditation, or a workout. The sea view from here will win your heart over and over again and this is definitely going to be your favourite spot!
Right beside the viewing deck is an alfresco sitting area which again, can be your ultimate evening chai spot. A change of space for every meal? Possible! That too, in style.
The Athaang Restaurant is just next door where you can relish a plethora of Konkani dishes, cooked by the people of Dapoli using locally sourced ingredients, fresh fish, and fiery spices along with Chinese and Continental.
