Sip on a fresh mojito by the esmeralda pool, in the very house where the mojito was invented by pirate Francis Drake in 1586. Fully restored in 2015, it was one of the first houses built in Cartagena in 1576. Winner of the luxury boutique awards in 2018 for the best historic villa in Colombia, Traveler's Choice 2019, the 25 best luxury villas in South America.
The 1000 square meter colonial mansion is located in one of the most prestigious sites in Cartagena. After its remodeling, the house has harmonic, special and luxurious spaces; however, its charm is the pirate history that surrounds it and the Spanish architecture of the 16th century.
Casa de Alba was featured in Vanity Fair in 2017, Forbes in 2019, Condé Nast Traveller and Assouline in 2019, for its unique design, excellent experience and high-end service.
