Built in the early 19th century on Rue de Rivoli by Lord Egerton, Hotel Brighton was popular with British travelers on the Grand Tour, a coming-of-age trip designed to further the artistic and cultural education of bourgeois youth. Today, the breathtaking views of Paris have forged the reputation of this unique establishment, attracting people from all over the world.
The entrance to the hotel is majestic. Guests are greeted by a mosaic set under arcades lined with marble columns, beneath which stands a bust of sculptor Corneille Van Clève framed by interplaying antique mirrors, high ceilings, and French windows. The architecture is a testament to the building’s rich past. The same splendor can be admired in the bedrooms, decorated with original paintings and engravings – mostly from the 18th and 19th centuries. But the most memorable feature is the breathtaking view over the city. From the typical Parisian balconies, you can see the jewels of the capital unfolding before you. To the left, the Louvre, a former royal residence turned museum; opposite, the Jardin des Tuileries; to the right, a view of Place de la Concorde and the Eiffel Tower in the distance. A truly exceptional skyline!
Ideally located on Rue de Rivoli opposite the Jardin des Tuileries in the heart of historic Paris and the city’s fashion district, Hotel Brighton is also a stone’s throw from Place Vendôme, the renowned home of the finest jewelers, and Place Saint-Honoré, famed for its lively cafés and designer boutiques. A few streets away, more exclusive establishments line the edges of the discreet garden of the Palais Royal.
