The name of the Hotel, Pantalon , is inspired by the gruff, greedy old merchant of the commedia dell'arte, Venetian correspondent of Pantaleone, an illustrious doctor linked to Venice, who lived between the 3rd and 4th centuries, whose martyrdom is depicted in the painting on the ceiling of the church of San Pantalon.
