1. What is Upepo-The Sky Village? It is a mountain resort 7500ft above sea level. It is surrounded by some of the most beautiful views in India and also has unspoilt Himalayan ecology all around. 2. What are accomodation options? We offer 4 different luxury cottages with attached bathroom in each. Each cottage is spaced atleast 50m from each other for privacy and exclusivity. Each cottage has king size beds which can accomodate 2-3 persons.In addition,we also provide extra floor mattress.For warmth, traditional Himachali room heater "chulan" is provided in every room. We also offer A pair of Pula - traditional Himachal slippers for a warm experience inside the room. 3. What are food options? We offer a set menu for breakfast,lunch and dinner. In addition, food can also be ordered from curated menu at extra cost.Food is served at restaurant. 4. How is the weather like at Upepo? The weather at Upepo,Manali is pleasant during the summers (April-May) when temperatures hover around 22°C - 30°C. Deep winters when there is plentiful of snowfall in and around Manali offers superb views and is for adventure seekers who love skiing and winter sports. Temperature in December-January can fall below minus 5°C in Manali. Monsoon in July-August shall have days of plentiful rains and mountains around shall be lush green. Sep-November shall be very pleasant as well with temperature around 20-25°C. 5. Is Upepo directly accesible by road? Sajla is a village on Naggar-Manali highway and the road access till Sajla is a comfortable drive.From Sajla village, guests need to trek for about 1.9kms (around 1 hour) to reach Upepo. Hike will be through beautiful Deodar forest uphill. 6.Where can we park our vehicle? We offer private car parking at Furaha villa which is located few minutes before Sajla village. We also offer pickup and drop to Sajla village at nominal rates. If preferred,rental car drivers can be accommodated at nominal charges. 7. How do we carry luggage to Upepo? We offer porter cum guide who can help carry light luggage to Upepo.We recommend heavy luggage to be kept at Furaha (valuables to be carried by guests) 8. Can we freshen up before the climb to Upepo? Of course,we offer our very own villa i.e Furaha for guests to freshen up at very nominal rates. We highly recommend guests to stay 1 night at Furaha villa to acclimatise and also enjoy the weather,hospitality and catch up some rest post a long travel.We extend very good discount for Upepo guests at Furaha villa. 9. What are the activities at Upepo? We offer board games like chess,carrom ,playing cards etc. In addition, you can indulge in gardening orchard walk, waterfall visits too. In case you prefer things slower,just laze around in our hanging swings,hammock and just catch up on your books.On prior request basis,we can also arrange for yoga,meditation and carpentry sessions.In winter , guests can enjoy snow activities at Upepo. 10. Can our entire family visit Upepo? Family members who are fit and healthy for the hike to Upepo should opt to visit Upepo. Heart patients,Asthma patients, altitude sickness people are requested to avoid a visit to Upepo 11. Things to carry? We recommend good hiking shoes,light luggage, jackets, thermal wear, essential medicines sunscreens lotions etc to be carried at minimum.
