Flanked by panoramic views of hills and spice and tea plantations on either side, amidst the lush greens of Wayanad, SaffronStays The Periaheights is a 2-bedroom, private villa suffuse with scenery perfect for romantic getaways or small families travelling with kids.
A walk into this large spacious home filled with light draws you towards relaxation, from where you can watch the busy plantation life. The two bedrooms are on the first floor, with ensuite bathrooms. Views of the hills, pink and purple skies and the chirping of birds can be seen and heard wherever you are in the home.
Wake up early for a walk around the estate while you can watch and know about the various activities in and around the plantation. The villa truly reflects 'God's Own Country'. Close your eyes to the aroma of Eucalyptus, Lemongrass and Orange while you laze in the lawn/rose garden while the kids can run around in the middle of nature.
Through the day you can enjoy an adventurous trek in the surrounding hills; relax on a tree-house amid the tea/coffee plantation or take a complimentary, bumpy jeep ride around the estate. If you're tired, head inside the cool house for a nap, read in the indoor library or gather the family indoors for some board games or outdoors for badminton.
Meals consist of a variety of tasty local cuisine in the veg and non-veg variety. As the evenings get chilly, you can also enjoy some lip-smacking non-veg barbeque meals (at an additional cost).
There are myriad wonderful places to see around if you want to explore.
While the property has its own small stream, there's the Karlad lake offering boating activities which is an hour drive. Or head over to Banasura Dam - Asia's largest Earth dam - you just can't miss. There's also many churches and temples nearby.
